The second book from Lirio Blanco Show, author of The Moldy Orange Bandage, follows troubled characters in two new plays about the work-force. While early retirement might sound nice, it didn't exactly come easy. After 24 years in the architectural profession, I plan to get out of the cubicle jungle, once and for all. However, before I began my professional career with buildings, I spent substantial time in my college theatrical department, designing set, murals and recreating classical paintings for plays. Revisiting the theater proved to be my escape from the frequent frustrating office work. Although an obvious vent for my dilemma, I was determined to balance workplace drama with a strong dose of verbal and farcical humor. Both original theatrical plays follow wearied workers beset by overwhelming circumstances. Fleeing a family curse, a former software engineer seeks refuge among a group of reformed criminals, the Villains Road Crew. However, it would seem fate, his social-media crazed ex-wife, and other forces seek to destroy his quest for peaceful existence. A young immigrant suffers indignity from the small business owners of The Business Park as they prepare for a promotional giveaway. But a secret affair and an escaped alligator might just quickly turn things around.
