Barbara was the youngest of twelve children, born to parents with very little. Her father was also a coal miner. She felt blessed to be part of a large family, and did not consider herself to be poor. From even a young child’s vantage point, she had a passion for being able to see things through the eyes of Jesus. Within her memoirs, you will see that she combines humor with reality as she relates her story. Her curiosity could not be dismissed. Throughout her life, she felt that God had blessed her with a heart for music, and she wanted to use it for His glory.

With strong determination and a song in her heart, she rose beyond the stigma of living on the wrong side of the tracks. Things begin to occur in her life, and feeling all alone, she nearly falters as she faces obstacles that could only be overcome by returning to, and trusting God.
