The operative word in the querky title is"thing." Stories for each section followed quickly: "This Ain't My First Rodeo," "This Is A Stickup," and "This Is the City" for THIS entries. "That Dog Won't Hunt," "Atta Boy," and "That Don't Impress Me Much" belonged as THATs. "If It's Not One Thing," "One More Thing," and "Here's the Thing" were naturals. "Thing" is so frequently used in daily discourse: anything, everything, something, nothing, one last thing, the best thing, the thing is, etc. Expect some religion, politics, and a little trivia. There's some family, TV, movies, and baseball. Everyone will find something of interest. Adam Carolla's book, "Everything Reminds Me of Something" says it all! One of the blessings of family life is grandchildren. My wife and I have twelve; six girls and six boys. Barbara's education was in Queens, New York, RN. Concordia University in Nebraska granted my B. S. in Education, Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Florida, the graduate degree in Administration. I served as teacher and administrator in Lutheran schools for forty-five years (MI, FL, NY, TX, LA) and coached volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, and track at each. Gardening, birding, biking, reading, and writing (since 2010) are my hobbies. "This, That, and the Other Thing" is my ninth published work. Two more manuscripts, already written, await financing. Born in Lyon, Missouri, population fifteen in 1943, I attended two one-room schools. I've been a St. Louis Cardinal fan since Schoendeist, Musial, Gibson, Flood, Boyer, and Brock. The ladies pictured with me are Olivia Broussard, Adeline, and Vivian. "An hour with your grandchildren can make you feel young again. Any longer you start to age quickly." (Unknown)
