The Big Tent

An ancient parchment reveals the thrilling account of an eyewitness who tailed the apostles and recorded their activities in his diary. We don't know his name, but we can read his story. And what a story it is! Within these pages you will read of miraculous cures, tenderness and compassion, courage, and unfailing loyalty and faithfulness. But also of senseless cruelty, riots, murder, poisoning, stoning, intrigue, deception, earthquakes, typhoons, arson and even a shipwreck in the Mediterranean and a trial before the emperor in Rome. After Jesus ascended into heaven the apostles felt abandoned. Pentecost enlivened their dynamism. With Peter, the Rock, and a tentmaker named Paul, the Christian movement did not end as expected with the death of its leader but instead has expanded to all nations. And now is a Big Tent that is open to all. Dave Mishur is a graduate of Loyola University-Chicago, where he majored in Philosophy and met Patricia Pochron, his wife of 55 years, who passed away in 2020. Mr. Mishur is a former High School Latin Teacher, Public Relations professional for several major corporations and Marketing Consultant. Located in Central Illinois, he has served as newspaper editor and reporter and penned a column called Second Thoughts that was locally syndicated for 15 years. In 2021 he published The Jesus Diary: An Anonymous Observer's Record of the Life and Accomplishments of Our Savior. In The Big Tent, he uses the same observer's insights to bring life and excitement to the adventures of Peter, Paul and the apostles after the Ascension of Jesus Christ.
