Brave Horse Lakota Warrior is a tale of a family leading a nomadic life in a village along the rivers in the shadow of the sacred Black Hills. The story takes place prior to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Kicking Beaver, seeking his manhood, encounters a ferocious grizzly attacking a golden stallion. During this critical challenge he develops a unique bond with the valiant horse. He changes his name to Brave Horse. As he and his horse experience many exploits, he develops a faith in the Great Spirit who guides his path. Brave Horse realizes the true meaning of being a warrior as he romances and marries a beautiful Lakota maiden. Together they love, protect and nurture each other, their children, extended family and villagers. Terry John Fowler received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and a Master’s Degree in History at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Mr. Fowler has two career passions. He loves to study and teach history. He also loves to write. He spent fifty years teaching American History, Government, and Geography to middle school, high school, and community college students. He married his soul mate Linda over fifty years ago. They have three adult children, Roy, Mary, and Alex Fowler. They reside in Moberly, Missouri. Mr. Fowler is also the author of an anti-slavery novel Another Way, published in 2019.
