Paul’s adventurous journeys did not end with his 3 missionary journeys and voyage to Rome! After being released from house arrest, Paul went on a 4th journey and left us hints in his writings as to those he would see, this would be his Farewell Tour. He probably first sailed to Spain, then sailed to the island of Crete and left Titus there (Tit. 1:5). Then sailed to Miletus and walked to Colossae to see the brethren there and to spend time with Philemon, thanking him for his forgiveness of his runaway slave. Then he walked to Ephesus and eventually sailed to Philippi to come full circle in checking on everyone he wrote to while under house arrest. This book completes Paul’s Fairwell Tour before he met his fate back in Rome with Nero. The accomplishments of the apostle Paul inspired me to write this book. His achievements were quite remarkable, and more people need to know of his tremendous contribution to the New Testament. This work on Paul’s Fourth Missionary Journey is an excellent integration of the letters of Paul’s and Luke’s presentation of the three journeys and trip to Rome, leading to a lovely, plausible reconstruction of a Fourth missionary journey of Paul. It is well-written and reader-friendly. I plan on using Tom’s manuscript in my Acts classes. I’ve never seen anything like it! Dr. C.
