David thought to write about the memories of his childhood after talking with his great granddaughter about what they had of electricity, running water, and entertainment when he was her age growing up in the 1940s. David also fondly writes about, and shares, his father’s unique stories that seem to be more embellished with every telling, as well as how his playmates were of every color, education, and financial means in the segregated South.
