Growing up was quite a challenge in young David Hosley’s life, as he and his siblings dealt with growing up poor in a small town. Their father and mother had divorced, leaving his mother to take a welder job during World War II when his father left them. Determined to escape the poor lifestyle and make something of himself, David worked hard in school and sports to gain scholarships and eventually get his master’s and doctorate degrees. He eventually enlisted in the Air Force and rose to the ranks of colonel, even flying 475 combat missions during Vietnam. David, his wife Bobbi, and their children began to lay some permanent roots while David was a program manager for all USAF professional development short courses in the Pentagon, worked with the White House, and managed several programs for the office of the Secretary of Defense. He also was instrumental in programs for Kennedy Space Center, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and University of Central Florida in science and aviation. But what is most memorable in David’s newly published autobiography is the role God played in his life from even before he accepted Jesus into his life. The diversity of his jobs and path he has charted he has only God to thank. After much prayer with his second wife Beverly (his first wife passed in 2014), David made the decision to write about his life, in hopes that his story gives readers a purpose for their lives and draws them closer to the God who made it all possible. What one boy from a small town could dream of accomplishing over the course of his life can be the same dream another can achieve as well, for the God who can make the impossible happen is behind each and every dream.
