The author is a regular American who wanted to delve into why he is a Christian and believes in God. The author's parents had the foresight to get him into a Sunday School class when quite young growing up in Nebraska and to stress the belief in God. Regular church attendance was always stressed.

The idea for this book was a desire as a regular Christian church goer to explore his Christian beliefs more actively. So, this must be made abundantly clear he is not a pastor, nor has had any training or education in preaching the Gospel. This little book then is just his personal witness and testimony to the power of believing in God and prayer.

The author is also a former junior high school teacher and a former university professor, his last Air Force \assignment was as a professor at the USAF Air War College locating in Montgomery, Alabama.
