I have had the privilege of being Jim’s pastor for nine years, and his friend for over thirty years.

Jim is one of those guys that you are drawn to. You don’t have to be around him long to know he loves Jesus and people.

Jesus made the statement, The greatest among you must be a servant (Matthew 23:11 NLT). This makes Jim one of the great ones. I have watched him serve the poor, the elderly, and many others over the years. What makes him a great one is that he does it not for recognition but from a heart of love.

Though I don’t proclaim to be an authority on poetry, it only takes a few minutes of reading to recognize that he is pouring his heart out to his readers.

Jim regularly reads his poetry at Chamblin’s Uptown Cafe and The Silver Cow open mic nights here in Jacksonville.

I can say with great assurance that all who read his poems will be greatly touched and blessed.
