The author was born in Georgia and known as the Georgia peach. He met the genius Homer there. He always said each person had the ability to write one novel and one song in their lifetime. He has done both. He graduated from high school in a graduating class of about fifty people. He ran the hundred yard dash in about ten seconds. He served his country in the navy while aboard the destroyer USS Dyess in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean and associated islands and countries. He got a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in night school, as he worked to support his family. He worked thirty years in the auto industry. After his first retirement, he worked as a real estate broker, builder, and land developer. He has two children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
