Readers will meet coyote, crow, rabbit, bat, raccoon, bee, chicken, frog, snail, owl, as well as reappearing human friends. Sometimes I hear an early morning bird playing a little unusual, like Thelonious Monk in a piano tree, and that’s how I’d like these almost animals to be.
