Throughout our lives, we search for a greater purpose. Dr. Daniel Albert spent his career as a dedicated physician treating adult and pediatric patients with rheumatic conditions. In addition to practicing medicine in academic institutions, he has made it his life’s work to travel to and volunteer in disenfranchised areas of the world, to help remote populations of people. This book accounts over 30 years of explorations, each very different, and each contributing to his life in a positive way. He takes us on a journey with him to the far corners of the globe, with practical advice for potential volunteers. He concludes with advice about the procedures and protocols necessary to start a foundation through his experience establishing ‘AASHA’ for Nepal ( Hope for Nepal), with the mission of providing healthcare and relief to underserved communities in Nepal.
