The citystates of Iblydos rule an archipelago steeped in mythic power, legendary beasts, and ancient history. Yet the region suffers; the mythspeaking rites that elevate great heroes into mortal demigods are failing, with few of the herogods surviving to guide their people and grant magic. All of this changes when a god's death awakens a forgotten source of mythic potential, transforming the player characters into the first new herogods in recent memory. But what is this mythic power, and will it revitalize Iblydos or doom it entirely? The port of Bailax hosts lavish funeral games for a recently deceased hero, inviting visitors and locals alike to compete for prizes and glory. However, an ominous meteor crashes nearby and interrupts the festivities. What the adventurers find there won't just transform them into mythic herogods, but also will incite Bailax to violent revelry and arson. Can the new herogods stop the city from selfdestruction? The Acropolis Pyre is a Pathfinder Adventure for four 1stlevel characters. This adventure begins the MythSpeaker Adventure Path, a threepart monthly campaign in which the player characters assume the role of regional herogods and have the opportunity to restore the tradition of mythspeaking to a realm inspired by Ancient Greece. This volume also includes a look at existing herogods of Iblydos, a gazetteer of the city of Bailax, a phoenixblessed city of pyres, and a toolbox of new gear, spells, feats, and creatures from the mythic isles of Iblydos, from the mischievous torcheater to the magnificent pyrefowl.
