In this single volume the first two of Mother Mary Eaton's books are combined in one. The Little Ones is, as the subtitle explains, "A Course of Religious Instruction for Children up to Eight Years." The Faith For Children then takes up where that book leaves off, presenting the Catholic faith for children ages seven to fourteen.

After a lifetime of experience in teaching children as well as training teachers, in these books Mother Eaton gives mothers and catechists a solid framework, with general suggestions for methodology as well as stories effective for teaching concepts.
