Chris Nelson was born in 1951 and is now 73 years old. His father taught him a rational scientific world view from very early on. He took his first creative writing course (taught by the inimitable Nettie Lynch) at Mt. San Antonio College, though he was writing long before then. He received a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from U.C.L.A., and both an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English Literature, from U.C.I.

More important than any of these partially defining things, he was married to Barbara for 35 splendid years.
