Meadowlark was Afraid of the Dark is the first in a series of books about animals with uncharacteristic attributes. In Meadowlark...we meet a great white shark named Meadowlark that, despite his size, is afraid of the dark. He quivers upon nightfall and is terrified of storms. As he sinks deeper and deeper into the ocean, he meets an angler fish (Bojangles), with a beautiful glowing light, who helps him realize that it is perfectly acceptable to have his own fears. Together, Meadow and Bo, explore the ocean in the dark and Meadow realizes with the help of his new friend that he can be brave, despite his fears. This picture book also includes an easy glossary for both oceanic and nonsense words.
