The old man is home from years away fighting in that distant, useless, and dirty war. He is haunted by his demons from "over there", his drug-addicted wife and the children he never wanted. It was all her fault...his drinking, no job, and those kids were constant reminders of worthless, weak years. Difficult years pass and have hardened both children, Roger and his older sister Alle. Even that simple routine of horrible has finally come to an inevitable end and change. Change is chaos. Cascading events leave Roger homeless, and utterly alone.
Fast forward three years to a young woman Roger saves by doing the right thing, ending up with a child he can call his own. A fresh start, a pure start he can and has to make exception to.
