Disruption of a person's mood and the occurrence of manic and depressive episodes can be attributed to a mood disorder. Such a disorder can be depressive, bipolar, substance-induced or triggered by a medical condition. Mood disorders may be grouped under two sections, namely bipolar and related disorders, and depressive and related disorders.
