Skin infection is a condition of the skin caused due to bacterial, fungal, viral or parasitic agents, and infestations. It can cause inflammation. Some bacterial skin infections are impetigo, cellulitis, folliculitis and erysipelas. Fungal skin infection can be either a superficial or a deep infection of the skin, nails or hair.
