In the Scarlet Thread Author Lillie Williams presents a powerful story of her horrific life beginning at a very young age. She reveals through The Scarlet Thread how the hand of God was there same as the blood flowing throughout one’s body giving life and protection along the way as she grew into adulthood. As an adolescent Lillie grew up in a loving and structured home with her adoptive Mother who was also her great aunt. At the age of fourteen Lillie was abruptly uprooted by her biological mother from the only security she had ever known. Lillie had so much hatred in her heart for her biological mother and they had a tumultuous relationship. When Lillie left North Carolina she had to grow up fast; moving to an unfamiliar place in a dysfunctional environment with a stranger. This left her unknowingly in the hands of God for survival. There were many times the road was very dark and she came to forks in the road that she didn’t know what direction to take, but God always lead her even when she didn’t know what the outcome would be. Especially after she left North Carolina and came north. Lillie Burroughs Williams was born November 24, 1942 In Fayetteville, North Carolina and is the proud mother of four wonderful children. The grandmother of eleven, and the great-grandmother of thirteen. Dr. Williams has been a resident of Stamford, CT for over fifty years. This is a woman who did not graduate from High School, but now holds a B.A., MA and a PhD in theology. In addition to her theological achievements, Dr. Williams in an elder at Community Temple in Stamford, CT. Where the senior pastor is Apostle Michael Densmore, Dr. Williams has ministered at Seminar and has preached and taught the word of God extensively for over thirty-five years. Dr. Williams is anointed and sent by God to teach the infallible word of God with no deviations. Lillie is a retired bus operator with Connecticut Transit Stamford, CT division. Many of her friends and family know her has Queenie, Ma, Grandma or Elder. She always has time to minister to someone in need and often has a host of family and friends over for Sunday dinner. Soul food at its finest! If you were to ask Dr. Williams about her achievements, she would simply say; God did it .
