S Karapetyan in 1995 found 650 Armenian churches in Georgia (though it is not known on what grounds his data are founded). These churches are marked on his reference-map, published in Yerevan. However, such a tendency is not characteristic of only the Armenian Church: the whole of the Armenian historiography considers some regions of Georgia to belong to Armenia alongside some churches and monasteries. This book presents and discusses these aspects of Georgian history, as well as specific issues in relation to Armenian historiography.
