This is a book of essays with fresh points of view on a variety of topics. It ranges from the beginning of Western Civilization (by the Sumerians and recorded in the Jewish calendar) to contemporary issues such as political purity. It includes re-interpretations of an ancient Greek play and the topic of war, as well as the basis of religion. There is a special essay on the vital role of Abraham Lincoln’s father in his son’s success.

Mary Coleman lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband. She has previously written a book about the causes war entitled Blood of the Beloved and co-authored a book about the father of Abraham Lincoln entitled Thomas Lincoln: Father of the Sixteenth President.
