Growing up in South Central Los Angeles, Abidan was surrounded by gangs, drugs and daily shootings, a gangster lifestyle.

Then two things happened which convinced him to finally leave the danger of the hoodlum environment.

The first was a chance meeting with a beautiful young woman named Alma, with whom Abidan immediately fell in love.

The second was the shooting and ultimate death of his older brother. This caused each member of both families to make enormous efforts working together to get through the tragedy and its aftermath.
