130 pages, 59 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. This re-print of the 3rd edition of the ‘Book of the Morgan’ by Harold Jelley was selected as being a significant edition as it includes maintenance, repair and overhaul information for the (then) newly introduced 4-cylinder Ford powered S.V. models in addition to information on the J.A.P. and Matchless V-Twin powered models. The 4-cylinder engine was utilized through 1952 with the only change during that time being an increase in capacity from 933 c.c. (8HP) to 1172 c.c. (10HP). Consequently, although this edition was published in 1935, it theoretically covers models manufactured for 17 years beyond its publication date. Also, the previous two editions of this publication did not include repair and overhaul information on the 4-cylinder models.
With almost two-thirds of the contents devoted to the maintenance and overhaul of both mechanical and electrical components there is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete renovation.
Includes, (in both air and water cooled configurations) the V-Twin J.A.P. KT, JT & LT O.H.V. & S.V. engines, the V-Twin Matchless MX, MX2 & MX4 O.H.V. & S.V. engines and the water cooled 4-cylinder S.V. Ford engine.
Morgan models that utilized those engines include the: Standard (1911-1928), De Luxe (1912-1931), Grand Prix (1913-1926), Sporting (1913-1921), Family (1915-1937), Aero (1920-1933), Delivery Van (1928-1935), Super Sports (1927-1939), Sports (1932-1939), F-4 (1933-1952), F-2 (1935-1938) and the F Super (1938-1952). Obviously, due to its publication date, the specific models (both 2 and 4 seat) addressed in this publication are the 1935 Family, Sports, Super Sports and the 4-cylinder F series.
Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all Morgan Three Wheeler owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.
