Towards a Global 3G System: Advanced Mobile Communications in Europe, Volume I

This is the first of a two-volume work in which Europe’s experts from academia and industry present the results of research into advanced mobile technologies and services performed within the scope of the ACTS R&D programme. The volumes describe and analyze the results of the Mobile Domain ACTS projects, and include implementation case studies. They cover: UMTS air interface (terrestrial and satellite); broadband wireless (terrestrial and satellite); wireless access; terrestrial and satellite networks; enabling technologies, including software radio and smart antennas; and services and applications, including multimedia and broadcasting.
