Photographer Vivian Cherry knows New Yorkers and has been capturing them in their natural habitat for over half a century. One of the last surviving members of the social realism cooperative, Photo League, she shoots her subjects against a backdrop of the city combining informal portraiture with gritty cityscapes. These works were all taken in the last decade. Cherry continues to present her audience with raw, real pictures that are delivered with an affectionate warmth.
