This volume deals especially with Revolutionary patriots from Groton, Shirley, Pepperell, Danvers, and Chelmsford in Massachusetts, and Hollis in New Hampshire. There are numerous extracts from old letters and documents, and transcriptions of many tombstones. It is attractively illustrated with photos of people and places. A full-name index has been added. The author was an antiquarian and genealogist who wrote numerous works on Massachusetts history.
