A is for Attitude, the ABCs of Life is a book that was inspired by Robert Butler (Papa), the Grandfather and Great-Grandfather of the co-authors of the book. While growing up, Papa would use proverbs to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren lessons that he hoped would carry them throughout their lifetime. As he got older, Shelli, his oldest granddaughter sat down with him to record the proverbs that he shared with his family, however, he was able to recall only one proverb, which was C is for cough, its cousin is sneeze. Cover them both with your handkerchief please. So, we created a proverb for the remaining letters of the alphabet and have shared them with you. Not only will you be introduced to a proverb for each letter of the alphabet, you will also have the opportunity to experience the vibrant illustrations that represent people from diverse backgrounds who are different races, ethnicities, religions, and have different abilities. It is our hope that the proverbs shared within this book will resonate with you and your family. We also hope that you are able to relate to the illustrations. We also employed the flip method, where you are able to flip the book upside down and experience the book in black & white. It was our intent for readers to be able to color the pictures to represent themselves or those whom they love. We hope that you enjoy reading and interacting with the book as much as we enjoyed writing and illustrating the book.
