Today is July 24th, 2000, and this is my 40th birthday. I was feeling quite depressed at the time. I didn’t see my life going anywhere and wanted to end it. I was high on cocaine and intoxicated on liquor, I had also smoked PCP laced marijuana. I was contemplating suicide but could not make up my mind the best way to carry this out. This was also the day that I found Christ Jesus and this time for good. As I was sitting in my living room, crying my eyes out and my body was going through many changes; my nose bled, I had trouble breathing, my heart was racing, I was sweating profusely, I had no control of what was happening to me or my body. I was flipping the channels on my TV, suddenly I came across Christian Television and Bishop TD Jakes was on. He was preaching about suicide and how the enemy fooled people by messing with their minds. He kept saying over and over again, how this was a trick of the Devil to make you believe that you are worthless and hopeless, and that this is the way the enemy keeps you from knowing who God created you to be.
