Transgender Rights in Flux

Despite the advances in transgender equality that have been secured at the federal level, since 2020 there has been an upsurge in state and local government restrictions on transgender rights. In 2023 alone, hundreds of bills were introduced in Republican-led legislatures, and most of those approved were signed by GOP governors.
