Pharmacology for Allied Personnel

Developed for allied health professionals, the anthology Pharmacology for Allied Personnel: Drug Uses, Effects, and Modes of Action offers a collection of readings on the uses, effects, and modes of actions of drugs. Rooted in human biology, the text familiarizes students with the structure of the body and features an organization chart to help contextualize the material and the pharmaceutical remedies. Sheela Vemu is an associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Northern Illinois University where she teaches courses in human biology. She also serves the university as a Course Transformation Project fellow working to create a culture of self-directed active learning in the non-major classroom.

Lisa Freeman earned her doctoral degree in pharmacology at Ohio State University. Subsequently, she was a post-doctoral fellow and research scientist at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and a professor of veterinary pharmacology at Kansas State University. She is currently executive vice president and provost at Northern Illinois University.
