A fifth generation descendant of the late Reverend Hiram Wilson, a late 1800’s Texas potter, Paula is very encouraged by her family’s heritage as being the first African American businessmen in Texas after Emancipation Proclamation. The rich legacy Rev. Hiram Wilson passed on to his remnants continuously fuel Paula’s passion for Capote Church, Cemetery, Wilson Pottery Foundation Museum, the Wilson Reunion and the Seguin community. This same legacy also strengthens Paula’s spiritual relationship with God. Paula now holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education in Human Services from Wayland Baptist University and is presently studying for a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Paula serves as a volunteer Minister at Dodd Field Chapel, Joint Base Fort Sam Houston, Texas with the Collective Protestant Gospel Service. Married to JeRome ‘Zoom’ Harper, they together minister to the body of Christ in the congregation, nursing homes; the incarcerated; and members of the community through song, music, mentorship, counseling, prayer and most of all, sharing the Word of God.
