When she was 15 years old, Annie Winters asked a Ouija board Who is my one true love? It spelled out J-E-R-E-M-I-A-H-B-R-O-W-N. Neither Annie or her boyfriend, Tom, knew who that was so they just laughed it off. But three years later Tom is dead and Annie is left shattered. To fulfill Tom’s dream of running a marathon Annie decides to run one for him. When she meets a boy on the running trails who flirts with her, Annie feels guilty and scared, but also a bit of hope that maybe her heart isn’t completely broken. And when she learns the boy’s name, Annie’s left wondering: do we choose our fate, or does fate choose us?
