As a parent, we all want to see our children succeed in life. We want to see them grow up and be productive individuals in this world. It is our duty to make every conscious effort that we possibly can to train and develop them to the best of our ability. As children grow up into teenagers, the task of training our children get a little more difficult. The teenagers become more withdrawn and not as open as they once were. This makes it difficult on both the parents and teenagers. The author, Cornelius JaJuan Clark, is a well-known administrator in Jackson County. Clark was a graduate of Graceville High School and attended Chipola College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2010. In 2013, Clark received his Master’s Degree from the University of West Florida in Educational Leadership and his Specialist Degree from Capella University in Curriculum and Instruction in 2015. Clark was the Head Track Coach at his 6th-12th grade high school for 10 years and taught for 6 years before accepting his role in administration. During his time at the school, he has had the opportunity to found a gentlemen’s program in which he mentors young men on the principles of becoming a true man. Clark was also the middle school FCA sponsor for his school. Among these responsibilities, Clark is also a Youth Minister in which he has the opportunity to mentor and instruct youth in experiencing success in their life. In Clark’s career as an educator and youth minister, he constantly encounters many teenagers who desire to do well in life, but often lack the knowledge needed in order to overcome many problems that they are faced with. When asked if they have spoken with their parents about the issues, majority acknowledge that they have not as a result of not knowing how.
