Charles is an award winning author for his book titled, Hey Mister Birdman a Bus Driver’s Bird Adventure. As an author he looked for a subject that stimulated the juices of a creative mind. He found a subject that has had a limited amount of fanfare by the general public. He came across the stories hidden away by all the glamour war stories. It’s the men who fought and died in the dark tunnels of CU CI Vietnam. It was real, but few people knew about this underground war that raged on out of site of our soldiers, who were fighting a war on the surface but the VietCon had men using underground passageways to kill our men and store the supplies they needed to carry out sneak attacks on our people. This story revolves around Jessie a good Christian country boy that was as you could say always wanted to be a Marine. You will follow him and his friends through, boot camp, being sent to Nam, and his meeting the savage killer that work the tunnels killing many of our people using surprise as his tools. You will go along as he walks you through his new adventures as he calls them from start to finish and you will hear his voice as he talks to you, as though you were with him at the time of his service to our country. Parts of this book are fun to read but there are some parts that will make you sad, It did to Charles and was hard to figure out why because he wrote and knew it was all fiction, except that the men called Tunnel Rats were real as was the miles of tunnels of Cu Ci Vietnam. Come along, I think you’ll like it.
