Mystery returns to Cassandra Swann’s life when she realizes she is being watched everywhere she goes and then suddenly her friend is murdered, leading Cassie to enact her amateur sleuth skills to unmask her stalker and uncover the killer of her friend. Someone is stalking Cassandra Swann. He drives a white Peugeot and turns up in the moments she least expects to see him, like outside the library, in the aisles of the supermarket, and in parking lots. When she sees him after leaving the hospital to visit her friend, Naomi, she knows she must figure out who it is following her every move.

Just as she begins to work on discovering her stalker’s identity, she is met with the problems of her friend. Naomi has just had a hysterectomy, ending all chances that she may be able to conceive a child… but even heavier on her mind is that she believes her husband, John, is trying to kill her.

When Cassie receives a call from John asking if she could check on Naomi at their house while he is on a business trip and she discovers Naomi dead, Cassie can’t help but remember her friend’s concerns.

While searching for the truth behind the facade of her dead friend and her husband, Cassie is dealing with trying to keep her unwelcome admirer, Charlie Quartermaine, at a proper distance. Even when given half a chance, something as small as a nod, Charlie finds a way back into her life… which is not where Cassie wants him to be.
