Though gently mocked as TV's 'Dad's Army', the Home Guard was a deadly serious bid to thwart an expected German invasion in the Second World War. This unit history of the Bromley Home Guard explores the unit's history and personalities. Almost half of this history usefully gives a nominal roll of the battalion, and a list of members who then joined the services, showing branch of service joined.
