Making Connections

All of the 50 fun and engaging puzzles in this book are carefully designed to help young readers make connections between and among different kinds of math skills and types of mathematical reasoning as well as to increase their speed, confidence, and ability in solving mathematical problems–both in the classroom and in the real world–that require the use of several distinct skills to arrive at a solution. Each page of the book features a different puzzle intended to enhance the development of the abilities necessary to make connections among the various mathematic skills and disciplines in accessible language. The book’s content and methods correlate closely with National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards.
