Dead Aft to the Wind is the first of an adventure series that is set in the late 1700’s about a young man, Nathaniel Kirk, who tragically lost his parents at an early age. His adventure begins when he boards a ship called The Resolve where the captain takes him under his wing and teaches him all that pertains to seafaring. In the evenings, the captain teaches Nathaniel mathematics where he develops a desire to learn more. Amidst pirate threats and slave ship controversies, Nathaniel learns some peculiar equations along the way. It’s a fun read for audiences from young adult on up. If you feel you had enough of math to last for a lifetime, it’s easy to skim over the math part without breaking the continuity of the story. The Nathaniel Chronicles: Dead Aft to the Wind should be coming out in the first half of 2007.
