Here is part of the first chapter. It’s only the beginning… Dr. Espinoza only had to wait a few seconds, before Beverly and I gave her opposite answers–simultaneously! Well girls, which is it she laughed. Beverly repeated her answer, while I kept quiet, thinking: Could this really be happening? After all of the games, guilt, laughter, lies, fun and fear? Was this is a fabulous twist of fate?–or just plain twisted? I don’t know whether I’m blessed or cursed! A chilly, quiet New Year’s Eve turned into absolute excitement. My co-worker and I were baffled by the woman who showed up at the office, and what she wanted to know before leaving. Things at work just hadn’t been the same. An exciting series of adventures had just ended for us, and Dr. Espinoza was giving us the chance to start a whole new chapter–depending on how we’d answer her ironic question. To this day, Beverly still gives me grief for almost ruining our chance by answering, No! I still can’t believe Beverly said Yes! Is honesty always the best policy? First, let me take you back a few years to explain Dr. E.‘s question, and describe my dilemma.
