It is set in modern times with a strong fantasy theme as the main characters are transported, from their happiness and personal problems, to a world that has devolved into the Biblical Rapture and an apocalyptic war. Dick leads his small force, along with his wife Jenny, against the overwhelming horde of the metaphorical Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
