Hall, the American philosopher, in over a period of 20 years of dynamic public activity, has steadfastly sought recognition of the belief that world civilization can only be perfected when human beings meet on a common ground of intelligence, cooperation and worthy purpose. The Mysteries of Asia combines seven articles which first appeared in Overland Monthly , a magazine founded by Bret Harte. These essays contain fragments of Hall’s personal experiences and his observations of strange beliefs, unusual places, and weird happenings in Eastern lands.
