In The Manxman a poor fisherman Pete falls in love with Kate, the daughter of a landlord on Man island. Pete goes off to sea to earn enough money to marry Kate. Then they receive word that Pete’s ship has gone down, so Philip and Kate are now free to plan their wedding. Just one catch; Pete’s not dead.
