Poems of Sidney Lanier

With a memorial by William Hayes Ward, this work is a posthumous volume of the poems of Sidney Lanier, poet, critic, and musician. His Civil War experiences made the remainder of his life a battle against time, poverty, and ill health. He was noted for his theory that the laws of music and poetry are identical and both based upon the physics of sound: duration, intensity, pitch, and tone colour.
