The first book Gasport Girl
was written primarily for the Degan Family members and friends, but since it was so well-received by other Western New Yorkers, Gasport Girl II was born. It picks up where Gasport Girl left off as the writer moves to Lockport, but contains flashbacks of her life in Gasport as she tries to adjust to her new home and high school. Comparisons of a small town to the big city take the reader along a journey of nostalgia during the mid-to-late 1940s. The Epilogue brings the reader to the present time and includes connections the author has made with local residents since the publishing of Gasport Girl.
