Twelve Acres will be the story of his farm and the problems, philosophy and satisfaction of living from your own patch of land. It is also the story of a slow life, a life going nowhere and a gradual realisation for Paul that, having considered himself an outcast compared to his successful, acquisitive friends back in the UK, that perhaps, with a copy of Thoreau’s Walden in his hand, he has ended up where we all want to be.
