An Album of TEXTILE DESIGNS. Contains upwards of 7000 patterns, suitable for fabrics of every description, and an explanation of their arrangements and combinations. The chief object of this album is to place before the textile Manufacturer and Designer a collection of patterns arranged, classified and indexed in such a manner that the Work will be to him a constant book of reference, from which he can extract matter, and by rearrangement and combinations produce a never-ending variety of patterns, and apply them to the fabrics he is manufacturing. It is hoped that the arrangements, classification and indexing of the designs, as well as the expostitionof the principles upon wich they are made, will enable the saving of time and mental labour. This book was originally published in 1881. Many of the earliest books on weaving, textiles and needlework, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
