ELS Fluency: Year 1/Primary 2 and Year 2/Primary 3: Handbook

This Handbook is the key to the ELS Fluency programme. ELS Fluency develops fluency skills and builds reading confidence for children in Year 1-2 / Primary 2-3.

ELS Fluency combines reading modelling, guided practice, progress checks, and targeted next steps. It is an effective complement to your phonics programme. The Handbook guides you on how to deliver the programme, how to assign fluency texts, and how to use the two Anthologies. It contains the materials and instructions for impactful Progress Checks every half term.

ELS Fluency is flexible as well as impactful, so the Handbook also gives guidance on delivery. It can be used for whole-class or small-group teaching, or as a one-to-one intervention.
