m o p e by Hunter G. Heath is creatively unoriginal in the most beautiful way. Constructed from the poetry of Frank O'Hara, Heath deftly cuts up and rearranges O'Hara's work to create a remix from the original poems, taking inspiration from modern music remixes but going a step farther to create entirely new meaning from what already existed. The poetry explores doubleness and art's communal multiplicity in that this work reflects two voices: that of O'Hara in his familiar way alongside that of the reconstructionist Heath who perhaps shows the reader what O'Hara was really saying. Or instead, this type of cut-up experimentalism shows the world what a mind might make of another's career, itself a conceptual outpouring backed by respect, honor, and empathy.
